Arsenic Absorber For Drinking Water

Arsenic is a poisonous element and is a cumulative poison. So far very limited technologies are available to reduce the Arsenic content to acceptable levels of 0.02 ppm or lower.

Consequences of Excess Arsenic in drinking water
• Arsenic poisoning can produce effects on skin and nerves
• The skin may become dry and hard, peripheral nerves can start   getting affected and muscle weakness can result. It can also lead   to cancer
• If a continuous dose of arsenic is taken though drinking water, it   leads to death primarily due to kidney failure.

• NEPL has developed an adsorption technology to reduce the arsenic content of drinking water.
• Water containing dissolved arsenic is contacted with a Adsorber and gets adsorbed.

Method of Application
1) Take Arsenic Adsorber in a column of at least 2.5 cm diameter and 20 cm bed depth.
2) Pass the water containing arsenic at a flow rate of 2 litre/min.
3) Collect the outlet water for further treatment/drinking.
