Iron Adsorber For Drinking Water

ACT for Iron Removal from Process water & Potable water

Ground water drawn from deep bore wells has been in contact with several mineral constituents. Depending on the mineral content of the strata, this water contains various concentrations of minerals. The iron content of the water can be as high as 15 mg/liter, which is several times higher than the acceptable concentration of 0.2 to 0.3 mg/liter in potable water.
Consequences of Excess Iron in Drinking Water
• Metallic taste of the water
• Stains on clothes, utensils, walls and toilets – wherever there is constant contact of water. The stains are dark yellow to reddish yellow, stubborn to detergent cleaning. Only acid cleaning can remove the stains. Articles which are not acid resistant cannot survive this treatment
• Regular consumption causes constipation or indigestion.

Features & Advantages
NEPL has developed an adsorption technology to control the iron content of drinking water. Advanced Agrotech has developed a simple and easy to use technology to remove iron from drinking water. Iron Adsorber is based on Ion Exchange Resin which selectively adsorbs both dissolved Fe+2 and Fe+3 ion from drinking water. The outlet water becomes fit for drinking.

Method of Application
• Take Iron Adsorber in a column of at least 2.5 cm diameter and 20 cm bed depth.
• Pass the water containing iron at a flow rate of 2 litre/min.
• Collect the outlet water for further use/drinking.
